Scientific name: Bubo Bubo

Distribution/habitat : The Eurasian eagle-owl, Bubo Bubo, is one of the largest owls in the world. It inhabits a wide range of ecosystems, from dense forests to open steppes, rocky mountains, and semi-desert areas. It is particularly found across Europe, western and central Asia, and extends to Japan. This nocturnal raptor prefers isolated areas with elevated perches, such as cliffs or mature trees, providing both an unobstructed view and protection from predators.
Diet: its diet is highly varied and adapted to its environment. It primarily feeds on medium-sized mammals, such as hares, foxes, stoats, and birds like crows or ducks. It can also capture reptiles, amphibians, and, on rare occasions, larger prey like fawns or foxes. This dietary diversity reflects its adaptability and position at the top of the food chain.
